Wallis Confirmed For Annie

Wallis-Cast-For-AnnieShe might not have taken home one of those Oscar-thingy’s everyone seems to be raving about this morning, but there’s still good news to be had from Quvenzhané Wallis who has found another vehicle to aid her in the mission of heart-melting world domination. Following the talks that were had earlier this month, a deal has been made with the Beasts Of The Southern Wild star for the role of that little orphan, Annie.

Announced officially by Sony, dotted lines have been signed, singing coaches are probably getting called and everyone involved is sticking ‘It’s A Hard Knock Life‘ on repeat to get them in the mood. That includes Easy A and Friends With Benefits director, Will Gluck who took on the project a matter of days before Wallis was rumoured for the role. He’ll be handling the musical that is getting a remix via Jay-Z who will both be working on the music as well as co-producer with Will Smith.

Originally, plans were that Smith’s daughter, Willow Smith would be taking the part before she backed out allowing Wallis to snap it up. Now the youngest Oscar nominee ever will be playing everyone’s favourite orphan that isn’t from a Charles Dicken’s novel and her sweet-centered hope that the sun will hopefully come out tomorrow. Expect more names to come into play for the parts of her reluctant money-making saviour Oliver Warbucks and the ‘orrible Miss Hannigan. Also, if you want some extra star-quality, Sony have the dog from The Artist play her faithful furry mate, Sandy. Just a thought.
