New Trailer Rises For Olympus Has Fallen

A battle of White House-based blockbusters is set to go off this year between Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx’s White House Down and Gerard Butler and Aaron Eckhart’s Olympus Has Fallen, which has just released a new trailer and poster.

Slapping Gerard Butler in the lead role, Olympus Has Fallen sees the White House infiltrated by a terrorist threat and the President (Aaron Eckhart) taken hostage. With the Commander and Chief’s finest all taken out by the bad lads, the only hope falls on Butler’s retired bodyguard Mike Banning, who takes it upon himself to storm the building and dispose of anyone who isn’t wearing a suit and talking into their sleeve.

Olympus also has the talent of Morgan Freeman as Vice President, Angela Bassett, Ashley Judd, Cole Hauser and Rick Yune as the brilliantly named baddie, Kang. Hardly taking itself seriously throughout the preview, it’s moments like Freeman’s “we’ve just opened the gates of hell” that make this a potential guilty pleasure of 2013. Or it’ll be trash. It’s anyone’s guess until April 13 when Olympus Has Fallen hits cinemas.
